Landing Your Dream Job with AI

How savvy job hunters do it...

Welcome back!

Struggling to land your dream job…or any job at all?

Over the last few weeks, media headlines have come out announcing that landing a job in the already tough US market has become even harder.

Fortunately, understanding how to use AI as part of the hunting process can give you a leg up versus less tech-savvy competitors.

From resume optimization to interview prep, AI can be leveraged at most every part of the job search process to increase your chances of landing a position.

And in today’s issue we’ll explain how. Starting with the often hated, but most critical first piece: Your resume.

The Resume Game-Changer

Did you know 75% of resumes never make it past the initial screening process?

Why?

Because they're not optimized for what’s known as the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Which is just fancy language for the AI-powered gatekeepers most companies use to filter incoming job applications.

So how do you make it past this first, invisible hurdle?

With AI-powered helpers like Resume.io and Rezi.

These tools don't just format your resume. Instead, they analyze job descriptions and suggest relevant keywords that increase your odds of getting past the ATS.

Even better, you can use them to customize your resume for different roles in a matter of minutes (a task which used to take hours, thereby dramatically slowing the application process).

But it’s not just your resume where you can use AI. Because once that’s ready, you can also use it to laser in on positions that match your ‘Dream Job’ criteria faster.

Depending on your age, you may remember the olden days of scrolling through job boards like Monster.com. While Monster and similar sites still exist, they’re outdated.

Because in 2025, AI-powered platforms like LinkedIn Jobs and Indeed use sophisticated algorithms to match you with positions based on your skills, experience and preferences.

Even better, these platforms learn from your behavior.

In particular, they become more efficient at matching you with ideal positions based on the way you interact with them (e.g. if you continually interact with jobs in one specific geographic area - or in a certain industry - they’ll recognize that and start showing you more options that match that behavior).

Which results in you spending less time searching and more time applying to positions you're actually excited about.

Next, once you get some bites, you’ll want to make sure you’re prepared for the interview. Luckily, that’s also something AI can help you with.

Interview Prep That Actually Works

Interviews are by far the most intimidating - and most awkward - part of the job application process.

Sadly, we’re not at the point of you being able to send a robot to interview on your behalf. What you can do, however, is use AI to prepare to the best of your ability.

Specifically, you can use AI interview prep tools like InterviewAI and Pramp.

Both of which offer personalized interview coaching that:

  • Analyzes your speech patterns and body language

  • Provides real-time feedback on your responses

  • Helps you craft compelling stories about your experience

  • Allow you to practice with industry-specific questions

That way, you walk in calm and confident instead of nervous and fidgety.

Your Next Steps

Landing a job may be tough these days, but there’s no reason to make things harder than they already are.

In fact, by using AI to help you bypass the ATS, you’ll already be well-ahead of candidates who don’t even know it exists. From there, using AI to improve your resume, identify ideal positions, and prepare for your interview increases your odds even more.

Sure, it might take some extra work.

But that extra effort is worth it if it means landing your Dream Job.

💰 AI Business Idea of the Week: Content Repurposing

Know what most every content creator on Earth needs?

A way to turn their long-form content (YouTube videos, blog articles, podcast episodes, etc.) into short-form content (LinkedIn carousels, IG Reels, etc.).

As of now, there are many people - including freelancers and agencies - who offer this as a paid service. And because it has to be done manually, it doesn’t come cheap.

However, by combining Zapier, AirTable, and something like OpenAI’s API, you could automate 80-90% of the work that currently requires human management.

Admittedly, some companies (like submagic) have already tried to make this work. Where they failed was letting the AI choose which sections of the long-form content were made into short-form. Huge mistake.

Identifying which content snippets will go viral / perform well requires human insight (for now). Meaning, what would be much more valuable is a tool that allows you to highlight sections of a blog post or YouTube video and convert that specific section of the content into short-form.
