Most realistic AI avatars yet
These clones are scary good...

Want to make more content, but hate getting on camera?
If so, you need an AI avatar.
And after what I’ve seen, it’s possible the new Wan 2.5 is the best, most lifelike AI Avatar cloner ever.
Launched by Alibaba (which runs an AI Venture Capital division and has its hands in most of China’s big-name AI tools), Wan is a dedicated text-to-video platform (similar to Google VEO-3 and Sora).
And like most Chinese AIs (e.g. DeepSeek, Qwen, etc.), Wan tokens cost a mere fraction relative to their American counterparts.
But ignoring the low costs, what makes this so interesting is how it helps creators and entrepreneurs create video content with ease.
While I personally am not a big fan of fake AI avatars (meaning they’re not based on a real person), I’m seeing people like Julia McCoy and Sirio have massive success with AI avatars that are based on themselves.
Specifically, ones where an AI avatar does the talking against a fake (or black/transparent background), but still leverages the human’s voice.
And it’s a hybrid model (human voice, avatar on camera) that solves many of the issues today’s creators face.
Mainly as it relates to not feeling confident on camera, not having a studio or high-quality camera to film with, or not wanting to have to get dolled up every day to film.
But that’s not all.
While it’s great to have an AI avatar talking for you, it makes you/your brand look bad if the lip synching between your voice and the avatar itself is way off.
Wan 2.5, however, has some of the most realistic lip synching I’ve ever seen.
Which creates a double value proposition: Low cost + high quality.
On top of it making you more productive, there are some pretty fun use cases in terms of being able to swap yourself into movie or TV scenes.
As an example, you could make yourself Neo in the famous Matrix battle scene against the agents (or dodging bullets).
You could also insert yourself into your favorite episode of The Office, Friends, Seinfeld, or quite literally any other show, series, or movie you can imagine.

Admittedly, there’s been a lot of hype around Wan over the past few days.
And it seems that hype is dying down already.
But with the potential to revolutionize the AI avatar niche, we don’t see this as a fad.
Instead, it’s likely Wan 2.2 will become a fundamental tool for creators who want to produce more video content with less effort.

And with Wan offering the best character swap quality on the market - and Alibaba’s investment arm looking to generate some big financial wins - we see this being a winner.
